Dr. Scott Wigginton, PhD., LMFT

Dr. Scott Wigginton serves part-time as the Counseling Pastor at Campbellsville Baptist Church and the Director of Lighthouse. A licensed marriage and family therapist as well as a licensed pastoral counselor, he served from 1987 through 2004 as Executive Director of the LifeCare Counseling Center and Counseling Minister at Walnut Street Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky. In addition to his B.A. from Western Kentucky University, he has earned M.Div., Th.M., and Ph.D. degrees from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a clinical member and Approved Supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, a former clinical member of the American Group Psychotherapy Association, a Fellow with the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.


Dr. Wigginton serves full-time as Professor of Pastoral Ministries & Counseling at Campbellsville University. Besides counseling and teaching, he has written a family column for the Western Recorder, the weekly newspaper for the Kentucky Baptist Convention, since 2001. He has been married to Elizabeth since 1986 and they are the proud parents of Auburn, Hope, and Caleb.

Whitney Brainard, MSC, lMft

Whitney Brainard, a 2010 graduate of the Masters of Science in Counseling program through the Carver School of Social Work and Counseling at Campbellsville University, works alongside Dr.Wigginton as a professional counseling associate. She is a licensed marriage and family therapist who is also a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors as well as being a long-time active member of the Beacon Hill Baptist Church in Somerset, Kentucky. She is currently available to schedule appointments on Wednesday mornings, afternoons, and evenings.

Welcome to Sarah Creason

What a delight it is to welcome Sarah Creason as our newest counselor.  Sarah is a two-time graduate of Campbellsville University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (2008) and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy (2012).  She is currently a Marriage and Family Therapy Associate in the commonwealth of Kentucky.

 

Sarah has served as the Women’s Housing Coordinator for Campbellsville University from 2014-2019 where she provided leadership, training and guidance to all female Resident Directors on campus.  She served as a Resident Director as well from 2011-2019, overseeing a female dormitory of 136 students.

 

Married for 11 years to Trent Creason, Associate Pastor at Lowell Avenue Baptist Church, and Director of Student Activities at Campbellsville University, the couple has three children.  Speaking of her passions, Sarah says, “I thoroughly enjoy helping people be the person God created them to be and love helping them achieve their goals. I’m very passionate about providing people with Christian based counseling and the importance of honoring God’s intention for marriage and family.”

 

Sarah enjoys working with persons of all ages and takes special delight in working with couples and families.  Through her work in counseling through the university, she has worked with such concerns as depression, anxiety, spiritual concerns, and men’s and women’s issues.
